The North East India
The North-East India are often called the 'Seven Sisters of India' for the simple reason that there are seven states that form that part of the country. These states are known for their abundance of natural beauty, religious significance, and cultural extravaganza. Sikkim is a landlocked state which shares borders with Nepal, China, Bhutan and West Bengal. Unlike the other seven states in the north-east, which share a contiguous border, Sikkim is some distance away. Therefore, it is called the only Brother among Seven Sisters.
There are a total of eight states in North-East India, which are:-
I) Assam
III) Manipur
IV) Meghalaya
V) Mizoram
VI) Nagaland
VII) Tripura and
VIII) Sikkim
North-Eastern states are located on North-East part of the India.
